Eleanor Shanley Concert 2017

Eleanor Shanley to Perform at Féile Lúghnasa 2017

Preparations are well underway for this year’s Féile Lúghnasa. Our yearly celebrations of the Celtic harvest festival are always a huge hit with all ages. Féile Lúghnasa is packed full of exciting activities such as a sandcastle competition, poker tournament, swimming races, a parade through the streets of Cloghane and of course the pilgrimage to the summit of Mount Brandon, the second highest mountain in Ireland at 952 metres. As always, the festival will include a host of musical talent in various locations around the locality, giving visitors from around the globe a taste of traditional Irish music.

We are delighted to welcome Eleanor Shanley back to Cloghane/Brandon for this year’s Féile Lúghnasa celebrations. After the success of her performance at the Cloghane Brandon Hillwalking and Music Festival 2016 it’s an honour to have this renowned and talented musician return for another night of music and song.
Shanley has been at the top of her profession since 1990, when she first stepped on stage singing with De Dannan.

To date she has released 14 albums, with a 15th due to be released this year. Forever Young is her most recent album, and she stunned Halla le Chéile with the beautiful songs from it during the Hillwalking and Music Festival last year.
Originally from Keshcarrigan in County Leitrim, Shanley has toured not only Ireland, but the world with her unique renditions of traditional Irish and Roots songs. She’s worked with a variety of talented musicians such as The Dubliners, U2, Sharon Shannon and many more.

If you missed her concert last year, you may have caught a sneak-peek of her talent in October of 2015 on The Late Late Show. We’re excited to hear more from Eleanor Shanley during the Féile Lúghnasa.
