Cloghane Brandon Hillwalking and Music Festival 2018
Nestled below Ireland’s second highest mountain is the parish of Cloghane Brandon. Each year a
festival like no other takes place in this picturesque area, The Cloghane Brandon Hillwalking and
Music Festival. This unique festival takes place each year amongst the spectacular views of Mount
Brandon and its surroundings. This year’s festival is taking place from the 31.03.2018 to the
The festival offers a wide range of hillwalking activities to suit everyone. The more experienced
walkers who would like a challenge can navigate Mount Brandon and Más an Tiompáin. Those
looking for more moderate walks will get to enjoy the Sás Creek to Brandon Point loop walk. This
walk offers stunning cliff views of the Atlantic. They will also have the choice of walking from the top
of the Connor Pass to Mullach, where the beauty of Cloghane Brandon can be truly seen. Families
will have the opportunity to walk the Fairy Glade in Cloghane and along the golden beaches. This is a
magical experience for the children to see where the fairies live.
Why should you attend this festival? This is a festival not to be missed. The festival has something for
everyone; families, walkers and music lovers will get to appreciate and enjoy the beauty of the area
while also getting to explore the wildlife and culture that exists in this small west Kerry region. There
will also be a chance to learn about history and archaeology on many of the walks. People who attend
will have the chance to practice their Irish in the Gaeltacht and above all have the craic with locals and
visitors! There will also be lots of music to be enjoyed throughout the weekend.
PJ Murrihy will take to the stage at Halla Le Cheile on Saturday 31st of March 2018. He will be joined
by the world renowned accordion player Séamus Shannon. Festival Organisers are delighted to be able
to host two of Ireland’s most well-known musicians. They will entertain the crowd with songs such as
My Native Sod and From Roscommon to Clare.
