After months of intensive hard work and dedication, Comharchumann Forbartha an Leith Triúigh Teo. (CFLT) are delighted to announce that our book based on fishing in the Cloghane and Brandon area is to be launched on Friday the 3th of November at 7.30pm in Halla Le Chéile.
Along with the help of funding from Fisheries Local Action Groups (FLAG) CFLT have been successful in writing and producing a bilingual fishing book and videos with the aim to protect the culture and heritage by sharing this valuable information with you all so that it is not lost forever. Our research involved collecting information by interviewing fishermen of the area from various age groups and through immersing ourselves in the community and gathering primary and secondary information from various sources. It was a community effort by all and CFLT are extremely thankful and grateful to everyone for their valuable contributions towards the project.
This project was not only about protecting and preserving our cultural identity but also about disclosing new and untold stories and tales about picturesque fishing villages.
CFLT would love to extend a warm welcome to you all and would be honoured if you would join us on Friday the 3th of November at 7.30pm in Halla Le Chéile. It promises to be a night packed full of music, laughter and community spirit. Come and be part of this journey with us!
